Mercia TREC Club

Dyfnant TREC Qualifier 4-5 Sept 2010 written - 1 January, 2010
The Dyfnant Forest, Near Welshpool, will be the venue for it's first ever full affiliated Trec competition, on Sept 4th and 5th, 2010. It is a Qualifier for the British Championships, 2011

Cath Cromarty, with the help of Mercia Trec Club, plan to make this a permanent venue for future events, depending on how well it's attended, and how the competitors feel it 'works'.

The venue is on a working farm, as is the PTV course, and COP. It is directly adjacent to the forest, so will be brilliant for a hack out on the Friday night, before or after the vetting, or before and after the PTV. The local area is beautiful, and the competition will not be too forest based, to allow for that scenery to be appreciated!

It will be a mixture of forest tracks, tracks, bridleways and minor roads. The routes at ALL levels, 2, 3
4, will include water crossings, so not suitable for water shy horses, although mine has gone through all the crossings OK....and she doesn't do water!!

The forest tracks, in the main forest are way marked with 'Rainbow' markers, thanks to a group known as Dyfnant Horses, in conjunction with the Forestry Commision. www.dyfnanthorses.org.uk

Hope to see you there!
